The Committee of the Regions holds an Enlargement Day on 1 and 2 June, in cooperation with the Commission's DG NEAR

The Committee of the Regions organises its Enlargement Day on 1 and 2 June. On the first day, the working groups on Western Balkans and on Turkey, as well as the Joint Consultative Committee on Montenegro will meet.

On the second day, the plenary will be opened by CoR Vice-President Karl-Heinz Lambertz and the Commission's Maciej Popowski, Deputy Director-General of DG NEAR. Two roundtables will follow: on Fundamentals First and on EU local and regional authorities' experience in using structural and cohesion funds – experience useful for IPA. DG NEAR, as well as DG REGIO, provide speakers for this event.
