Today is a very important day. Our leaders will not only confirm but also make it very clear that we are committed to the full integration and membership of the Western Balkan within the European Union.

The EU-Western Balkans summit took place in Brdo pri Kranju, Slovenia, on 6 October 2021. EU leaders agreed on the Brdo declaration, with which the Western Balkans partners have aligned themselves.

On 06 October, EU and Western Balkans leaders will hold a Summit in Brdo pri Kranju, hosted by the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the European Union and chaired by President of the European Council Charles Michel.

Ahead of the EU-Western Balkans Summit on 6 October, President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, will be in the Western Balkans between Tuesday and Thursday, to visit Albania, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On Monday 27 September, High Representative/Vice-President Josep Borrell will address the second edition of the EU – Western Balkans Media Literacy conference, which will focus on “building resilience to disinformation”.
